Question #1:

LED lights on the right voltage?

I have a set of the "Lite Glow" LED lights. They are actually for a car or motorcycle. They came with 2 remotes. A person i used to talk to, put them in my PC that he built. But the PC has turned into crap, so i took them out. I am wanting to put them behind my TV, so that they will change to the sound from the TV.
What would be the right voltage to hook them up to, so they will work properly? I've tried a hooking them up to a few cell phone chargers and the remotes won't work with them. I know the batteries are good, cause the lights on the remotes still flash when i hit the buttons.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

Question #2:

Can I trust the on line discount placed to order a car charger for my cell phone?

I don't want to pay $30 for car charger. I found a few websites that have them for $14. Is it safe to buy from these place? I am so tired of buying a new charger for each new phone I get.

Question #3:

What is your opinion about modern day police?

Besides that fact that they go through the same brainwash training us vets did in boot-camp. (can't recognize someone is brainwashed, no problem, just listen to them use little catch phrases like "put some lead down-range" "take care of business" or "proceeded to" "subject instead of person" "perp instead of person" or anything else that takes away the humanity or individuality of a person. The worse is taking away their name and giving them a number. In the 1940's a nation got so good at it they just tattooed the number so the person felt their individuality was stripped forever.

Anyway, growing up everyone always liked the friendly local PD. But these days things have changed. My ex-girlfriend called me (we're still friends) asking for bail as she got a DWI but was under the limit. I know her, she is lucky to finish 1 glass of wine. She never drinks beer, and definitely not mixed or liquor drinks. But she was treated like a criminal the moment she was pulled over. She asked why she was pulled over and told to "shut up and step outside the vehicle" (Who calls a car a "vehicle" that is not brainwashed anyway??) After talking to one of the officers, she admitted that my friend looked EXACTLY like that cop's ex-wife who just dragged him to court for under-payment of child support. I bet he must have felt great getting his revenge. Or I hope he did, because as a business owner I have enough legal budget left over that our firm is going to take this guy off the force by the time they get done with him. Glad I read the monthly newsletter that our civil firm now has a criminal division. the cop thought he was being safe by confiscating her cell phone and "accidentally dropped it into traffic, but not before she slipped the memory card into her make-shift side seat pocket. So she got the whole thing on audio. Needless to say that cop is gone. "Listen Bitch" doesn't sound like he's "protecting or serving" l r. But you hear her sober as can be asking her legal rights, and then refusing to speak without an attorney present. And no he did not conduct a field sobriety test or call in another officer to confirm it. But that isn't it, my uncle owns a franchise company which I own plenty of stock in because it is so good. He got pulled over in a brand new Doge Charger. Speeding? NOPE. Racing? Not him.. Road rage? Nope. The cop, who's force just got all new Doge Chargers wanted to look under his hood. Sure enough the difference between the PD standard V8 and his polished SRT-8 was what that cop was after. Only problem is my Uncle also is paranoid about his car getting stolen and has a GPS black-box. Because the cop had a little......stick envy, nailed him for "speeding", and "wreckless endangerment" which he went along for because he was smart enough to realize how this false stop probably will yield a healthy settlement this means for him. The good cop did his job recording times, etc, so when the black box was pulled, it showed my Uncle driving his car like an old man. (he really does) but from the point where he was apprehended suddenly seemed to go on a ride of it's own before it was impounded and waiting for the tow truck. (FYI the tow truck driver was asked three times to tell the police when he was 10 minutes out:::::::::no doubt to make sure the two kids playing cops could make the scene look normal again. But the black box showed 3 times accelerations equating to 0 to 60 in ~4.9 sec. Needless to say the city ended up paying off my uncle's car,AND his home by the time the attorneys got done.
So lesson lesened. Our population has x% of nutbags out there. The same minds who had they been around in the 1940's would have been the type who would have worked in those places, or who would have gone around collecting train faire in trade for 'early meal' prior to departing to their "new home" in Poland in 2-3 days. So Make Sure You ALways Travel With A Long Recording Device!!! It might just put the REAL criminal in jail and erase the recession for you!

Question #4:

AA Powered Cell Charger or Car Charger for FOUR day Camping trip?

Im going on a four day camping trip, and I don't know what to bring in order to charge my phone. They don't have hook ups at the camp ground.
However, it will be my friend's mom's ford f-250, and I don't want to ask if I can charge my phone in her car, i don't know why. But i heard that the AA batt. powered cell chargers wont last that long. I have the env2, so the battery life is great.

I was thinking of bringing an extra charged battery as well.

Question #5:

How can all the cell companies get away with price gouging customers for replacement phones? R they sadist?

It's pretty frustrating to have a 2 yr contract on a cell phone, and then the phone turns out to be a piece of garbage that you haven't insured because you only paid $30 for it. Then try and buy a GOOD phone without an upgrade option and you're literally SCREW--! The phone I want is $49.99 at Walmart with a NEW two year contract, and if I were eligible for an upgrade, maybe $100. To purchase it outright (non-committment) would be $249 to $299. Now wouldn't it make sense for the company I am with to at least offer me the upgrade price and extend my contract right now for 1-2 years to ensure my continued business, rather than to risk losing me in a few months to 1 year? I know they are so profitable and controlling they could care less about little ole me with my $30 phone, but what REALLY is their PROBlem? I kept my little $30 phone, ordered a charger for $1 onlilne and a battery and car charger for under $7.00. Guess I will chintz them right back for at least another year. If everybody would do that, maybe they'd be nicer to their existing customers. My first cell was through Quest, who gave up their service in my area. I had one wonderful phone and great service with them for about 4 years. I was in cell phone heaven. I haven't been thrilled with cellular life since having to give up my first phone (Sanyo 8200) and I won't pay over $100 for the Rugby I think I want--it's not as good as that Sanyo was, except it has the GPS. I don't want to have to carry an expensive plan.

Question #6:

What to take for a long car ride?

I'm taking a 10 hour car ride in a few days and I'm wondering what to bring. We go every year, but I always forget what to bring. Here's what I have so far:

Books
Magazines
DVD Player
Movies
Pillow
iPod (charger for later)
Cell Phone (again, charger for later)
Snacks + Drinks (so we don't have to pull off of the highway and pay ridiculous prices)

What are other things I can bring to keep myself occupied?
thanks in advance :)

Question #7:

How do you charge your cell phone when you are away from home, or your car?

I have tried those AA battery powered chargers and they go through at least two batteries on 60-70% of a full charge. Not too economical or ecological. Thank you for your answers.

Question #8:

Mini usb a/c adapter for FM radio transmitter?

The main part of the FM transmitter works but the cable that plugs into the car broke. It has a mini usb entry so would I be able to use any car charger with a mini usb plug-in? Such as a cell phone charger with a mini usb end? Or would I have to buy something specifically for a FM transmitter?
The transmitter is from Excalibur Electronics and it says RATING: 12V - 500mA

I don't understand that so I hope someone does! Thank you!

Question #9:

Where to buy a cheap Verizon phone?

I want a new or very nicely refurbished Verizon cell phone with a charger. Nothing fancy, but something sturdy, not too big with your basic features and one must is text messaging as my family gets that unlimited now in our plan. I am a college student who lives in a different state than my family so they can't immediately help. I used to have a blackberry but someone stole it! I wanted to get rid of the blackberry anyways because my poor mother was paying an extra $30 for the mandatory internet plan(my friends had got it for my bday!).I don't own a car so I can't get to a store but I want to purchase online and I have to have the phone by Monday/Tuesday because a prospective employer will call me and I have no other phone!! So I went to the site lostmyphone.com and they have a limited number of verizon phones and they claim they are cheap but I researched one phone and it sold cheaper elsewhere! Their cheapest phone was $50! Then I went to a site called recellulartoo and it has dirt cheap phones that are refurbished but some are labeled "heavily used" and the one titled good condition has bad reviews on cnet. So, I saw some nice/okay phones on amazon for only 0.01! But it says in parenthesis: (when purchased with new service plan) What does that mean? Does that mean I cannot get it because I have an existing account/plan with them? Actually my older brother is the owner of the account for my whole family. Where can I get a good verizon compatible phone for up to $15 online with my specifications? Oh and I already know some verizon stores have old phones people turn in but I tried that last time I misplaced my phone and went to 3 Verizon stores and none had any old cell phones because in Chicago where I live no one turns one in because its free and they don't get anything for it. P.S.- I have asked my friends/cousins if they have an old phone lying around and none of them do!! Thanks for any help folks!!

Question #12:

Anyone else had a lot of problems with 350z?

I bought a 2004 Nissan 350z brand knew. It's the touring and automatic about the only option it doesn't have is the Nav. system. I have had NOTHING but problems with it has anyone else had problems with theirs? I also had an extremely hard time getting Nissan to do any warranty work. They'd constantly dodge the bullet. I have 88 thousand miles on it and do regular maintance.

I have to replace the pads and rotors about every 16-18 months if I use Facotry pads and rotors. If I use after market they last about 3 years.

I had a major oil leak which I paid to have repaired even though I still had a warranty on the motor (but did not know it).

The cig. lighter went out I brought in for repair the tech tried to blame my cell phone charger yet my cell phone charger works fine in every other car I own. After the third time they tech refused to work on it anymore. (I think they couldn't find the short)

The Stereo blew out a few speakers I brought it in in an attempt to have it warrantied they said it sounded fine. Now the entire thing is shorted out and hardly works.

The heated seats have never worked well and the warranty department said they work fine even though it takes 45 min.s for them to some what warm.

I had to replace some part on it because it wouldn't idle (forgot the part) was a $600 repair.

Both the power seat switches have gone bad and I had to replace both. Costing me a grand total of $440.

The battery went bad the 4th year of owner ship and I had to pay to replace it.

The passanger window switch is broken now and no longer works.

The heating system get's bubbles in it or something and stops blowing hot air every 2-3 years.

The car is now having some sort of transmission issue.

One of the wheel wells fell out about 3 days after I had nissan repair the oil leak. I was driving down the free way when it happened and was unable to get it back. I argued with Nissan about replacing it but they refused.

I now have head lights full of water and both have to be replaced.

Every 3 years the shocks that push the back hatch up and keep it open go bad and have to be replaced.

The airbag light is on and flashing for the third or fourth time.

I could keep on going but I think this gives you a fairly good idea. I called Nissan directly and tried to have it lemoned they denied. Saying this was "typical" I have had such a bad expereince with Nissan and this car that I will never buy another car produced by a Japanese company again.
The car is low build quality has an extremely poor build quality rating with most major rating companies. The 370z was rated under a 5 (out of 10) for reliability based off past models (350z). Considering that the 350z doesn't come with a cigarette lighter it's just a 12 volt adapter or w/e and did have the coolant flushed and what not I think the build quality is lacking to say the least.

Question #13:

what charges faster, a wall charger or a car charger?

I was wondering what would charge my cell phone faster...

Question #14:

Do you think this type of info could be retrieved from a phone?

About 10 years ago when I was in college, I was walking in the nearby shopping center when I was approached by two guys who were older than college student age but seemed very friendly and I was lonely so they asked if I wanted to join them for a drink and I said ok (one was a nerdy Asian guy and the other was a very big tall black guy in jean overalls). I was a shy bookworm type so I was happy to be invited for a social occasion. We all walked to a nearby bar where they ordered drinks for us all. As soon as the drinks came, the black guy asked me to go look at something so I went to the area by the restrooms with me. He was acting strange and there was nothing to see, we finally went back to the table. I am certain the other guy spiked my drink because before I knew it after a few sips my head was spinning and the Asian guy practically carried me to his car which was conveniently parked right outside. I was going in and out of consciousness, remember saying I had to get home to study but soon I was out of it, we drove and drove I don't remember the ride too well other than we got to a beach front house in Malibu (30 miles from the bar) and I remember that part because there were tons of shoes outside the door and he made a big fuss trying to remove mine (this was the Asian guy), it was a beautiful big house literally on the sand with the ocean right there. Again I black out but the next thing I remember he was struggling to remove my clothes, it was like I was in a coma and couldn't physically resist other than saying stop and he was quickly undressing and had the idea to rape me (I was a virgin). He was trying to pin me down when all of a sudden I started throwing up - on him, on the bed, everywhere and A LOT. He got mad, took me to the bathroom was trying to wash me off. I can't remember what happened next other than waking up in my bed with him next to me at my place! It never crossed my mind until a couple of years ago that he may have drugged me, I always wondered why I got so sick and "drunk" off of a few sips of one drink. So, coming to my question, when he was in my place as soon as I woke up he woke up too and left like a bat not explaining anything about what happened, just disappeared, but he had left his cell phone behind. He called it and said he needed it back, gave me an address in Beverly Hills to drop it off but I never did. I still have the phone (don't have the charger and never activated it). Is there a way to look into it by some tech savvy person to trace numbers dialed from it or any info to track it to this shady guy??

Question #15:

Do my GPS (Garmin Nuvi 255w) and its charger have the same serial number?

My GPS was stolen out of my car last night, but the moron took my cell phone charger instead of the GPS charger for it. The GPS charger has a serial number on it, and I was just wondering if the two have the same number, so the police can have better luck finding it.

GPS was a Garmin Nuvi 255w (I think...it was a gift, and that looks the most appropriate from the Garmin website)
My charger has a sticker on one side with a whole bunch of information, including a number in a white box labled S/N--I assume this is the serial number.

Question #16:

Why won't my Toyota accessory outlet doesn't work unless car is on?

I have a 2002 Toyota Highlander. In the front of the car it has a cigarette lighter and a 120v max accessory plug. There is also an accessory plug in the cargo area. If I plug something into either of the accessory plugs, e.g. a cell phone car charger, it does not work unless the key is in the ignition and it is turned to accessory or the car is running. Is this how it should be? It's kind of frustrating because if I want to leave my cell phone or GPS plugged in to charge while I am away from my car, I can't.

Question #17:

How can I tell if my cell phone charger has a regulator?

I want to purchase a car charger for my new cell phone for long trips. At the cell phone store, they told me if I buy one somewhere else it might be cheaper but it might not have a regulator to keep the phone from receiving too high of a voltage (which could fry the phone and render the warranty useless.) When I find an economically priced charger, how do I know if it has a good regulator or not?

Question #18:

*Sigh*.....tears....tears..I hope I did the right thing?

WOW! OH WOW....I hope I did the right thing?
I have been dating the same man for 5 months. Very sweet, kind Giving, makes me laugh! I have met his family....We are both busy, since we both have somewhat demanding careers...He is 42 im 33....I care about him, i think I actually love him....We see each other 4 days a week, he stays over....He is one of the best guys I have ever dated.... This past weekend we were both busy, didn't see each other too much, but that's ok.... On Monday(memorial day) he was out with his family, called me a few times to check in and see what I was up to. Said for me to call him when I got home and he would head out my way. I called, no answer, voice mail box is full.....sent a text...no response....3 hours past....still no answer or response.......call again after about 5 hours......phone rings, he does not answer, goes to voice mail........So im like, ok, hope he's ok.....So late last night, around 1am, i called.....of course, no answer, no txt back....This morning he calls at 9am saying... " I was with my family, lost track of time, my phone was dead, I stayed at my sisters house"......So me, being the wonderful person that I am, say to him " You mean, your phone was dead, even though, you have a phone car charger and could go and charge it for a few min and call me or txt me".....????????? Really, its 2010, who the hell goes 12 hours with out a cell phone?? C'mon on Son!!!! Who does that....Its not the fact that he spent the whole day with his family......i was with my family as well......So that's fine, not an issue....but to give me some lame *** excuse... "Uh, my phone died".....WHAT!!!!!! I was pissed about that excuse........ Should I have been???? He said I apologize, Im sorry......I told him, i get it we all loose track of time and stuff happens, but at least say hey "I will see you another day or time" didn't just leave me hanging.......Im my opinion, I think I at least deserved that......I told him "I know im not your girlfriend, fiance, or wife....so you didn't owe me anything, but we are close, so I know you could have at least picked up the damn phone".......I dont regret our conversation, at all, I wanted to make it clear to him that Im not going to stand for the BULLSHIT! at all!....If I disagree, im going to let you know, that way we can fix it and move on. I really do care about this man, I love him.......However, im not going to just accept not communicating...He knows this already, he knows that Im really big on communication......I dont want to lose him, but I just cant take this! He has done this same thing early on, and we discussed it and moved on, but to do it again and again......nahhhhh......!!!! Any advice?? When we got off the phone he just said "I will talk to you later"
